Lottie sentenced to 44 years for role in deadly 2020 crash

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- On Friday, Jesse Lottie, Jr. was sentenced for his role in a deadly Dec. 2, 2020, crash after being found guilty by a jury trial on March 8 of this year.

According to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office, Lottie was sentenced to:

  • Count I: Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 3 Felony, 14 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with 1 year suspended.
  • Count II: Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 3 Felony, 14 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with 1 year suspended.
  • Count III: Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony, 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with 1 year suspended.
  • Count IV: Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony, 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with 1 year suspended.
  • Count V: Carrying a Handgun Without a License, a Misdemeanor, 1 year in the Indiana Department of Corrections with no suspended time.

Counts one through four will be served consecutively, but concurrently with Count five, meaning the total aggregate sentence is 48 years with four years suspended to reporting probation.
