INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Midwest Food Bank was looking to give out a half million meals to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, but they needed help doing so. That’s where Lucas Oil Stadium, the Salvation Army, and Army National Guard stepped in to help.
"The urgency and the challenge that we're facing right now with COVID-19 is that supply lines are not what they used to be. People aren't able to get the resources that they're used to and you have families who, for the first time in their life, are experiencing life without a paycheck," said Lt. Vinal Lee of the Salvation Army in Indianapolis.
Working together, around 6500 boxes of food were packed up for distribution on Friday alone.
