Official word came less than 24 hours after team owners voted to green-light a 60 game season. The schedule is designed to mitigate travel by focusing on divisional play.
The last hurdle being an agreement on health and safety protocols, finally cleared within the last few hours.
Players will report to training by July 1st.
The majority of clubs expected to conduct workout at their home ballparks.
Precautions will be taken to protect all players and personnel from COVID-19.
The South Bend Cubs season, along with other minor league baseball, is still undetermined although according to sources they will most likely not have a season.
