NILES, Mich. – According to police, a male victim was shot shortly before 8:00 p.m. Saturday night in Niles, Michigan near 6th and Wayne street.
Police received a call at about 7:50 p.m. and have confirmed that two shots were fired in what may be a drug related incident or a robbery, according to Niles Police Chief Jim Millen.
The victim and several suspects were allegedly "in the same vehicle" when the shots were fired, Millen said.
Police claim the victim is a 25-year-old white male who was taken to the hospital and he appears to be in a stable condition.
Suspects fled on foot down 6th street but leads have been obtained on said suspects.
Further investigation is still ongoing.
