SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Residents living on Hildreth Street say a man exposed himself behind a house on Saturday night. According to a letter distributed by the Neighborhood Watch Association, the alleged suspect has been in the area for more than a year.
“It’s fearful because you don’t know what it’s going to lead to,” says Pam Claeys. She says she has lived in the area for over 30 years and generally it is a quiet neighborhood.
Roberta Spencer, who also lives in the area, says Saturday night’s incident was not the first time the neighborhood has seen the alleged suspect.
“I personally feel as though our neighborhood has been a safe neighborhood compared to looking at other neighborhoods in the city,” Spencer says. “But this incident has just been one of several incidents reported in our area.”
South Bend Police say this case has been turned over to its Special Victims Unit for investigation.
