Man accused of falsifying info on background check for gun purchase

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A man who attempted to purchase a gun was arrested for allegedly falsifying information on his application for a license, according to court documents.

On September 20, Anthony Gratzol attempted to purchase a handgun from Midwest Gun Exchange.

While filling out the paperwork for the background check, Gratzol checked "no" when asked if he was the subject of a valid protective order.

Investigators say Gratzol attended a hearing on July 19, 2019 about a protective order filed against him, which was granted.

Gratzol has been charged with one count of false statement on criminal history information form.
