Man accused of molesting child over the course of six years

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A man was arrested and charged with child molesting after allegedly assaulting a victim for six years, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Juan Lopez, 53, was arrested on four counts of child molesting as a level 1 felony and one count of child molesting as a level four felony.  

On March 17, the South Bend Police Department received a report about Lopez sexually assaulting a minor in or around the year 2015.

The victim said Lopez assaulted her about four times a week for about six years, reports said.  

The victim was a minor when the assaults occurred, according to reports.

When speaking with police, Lopez admitted to assaulting the victim, confirming some of the specific instances the victim shared with investigators.

He also said he assaulted a second victim, reports said.

Lopez is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

He is due in court on April 17 for his initial hearing.
