Man arrested in Berrien County for distribution of crack cocaine

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – The Berrien County Sheriff's Department assisted in a four-month investigation that resulted in the arrest of 46-year-old William Harden for the distribution of crack cocaine.

Officials say Harden was distributing in the Benton Township and Benton Harbor City areas.

The Southwest Enforcement team in Michigan seized approximately a quarter ounce of crack cocaine and over an ounce in crystal meth.

Harden was arrested on June 2.

Officials conducting the arrest say Harden attempted to flee but was later detained during a pursuit on foot.

Harden’s hotel room was later searched where additional narcotics and other drug trafficking items were located.

Harden was booked into the Berrien County Jail on the following charges:

  • Delivery of crack cocaine 2nd – 6 counts
  • Possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine 2nd
  • Possession with intent to deliver crystal meth 2nd
  • Resisting and Obstructing Police
