Man arrested in La Porte for being a felon in possession of a firearm

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A man was arrested during a traffic stop for driving without a license and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

On Monday May 13, a La Porte County Deputy stopped Donald R. Brewster Jr., 25, for a traffic infraction.

During the stop along US 20, the deputy discovered Brewster was driving without a license.

Upon further investigation, the deputy found a loaded firearm in the passenger compartment.

Brewster was arrested for never receiving a license and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.  

He was taken to the La Porte County Jail and is being held on a $20,005 cash bond.
