Man charged for firing shots at South Bend police

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Prosecutors filed formal charges against a man who admitted to pointing an assault rifle at South Bend police.

Eugene Sims Jr. is facing five felony counts, including resisting officers and pointing the gun at them. Sims was shot in the arm by an officer during the confrontation on Monday.

Sims faces up to 23 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
