Man charged with killing realtor apologizes

The man accused of killing an Arkansas real estate agent went before a judge Tuesday.

Police say 33-year-old Aaron Lewis kidnapped and murdered 51 year old Beverly Carter after she showed him a home in rural Arkansas.

Carter disappeared last Thursday and her body was found in a shallow grave on Tuesday. A man who helped spot Lewis called 911 when he noticed something suspicious.

"I'm sitting over here, they're looking for a guy in that was involved in a realtor being kidnapped and this guy looks like him. He's nervous and he's out here at a bus stop," he told dispatchers.

That call lead to Lewis' arrest. He pleaded not guilty to charges of capital murder, robbery, and kidnapping.

Outside the courtroom, Lewis expressed remorse.

"I'm just sorry it all happened. I just want it all over with," he told reporters outside the courtroom.

Lewis says he pleaded not guilty because that's what his lawyer said to do. He admits he kidnapped Carter but says he did not kill her.

He says an accomplice named Trevor killed her.
