UPDATE: Man sentenced to 35 years for child molestation after plea agreement

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- UPDATE: According to court documents, a plea agreement was reached with Gavin Weimer after he was charged with two counts of Child Molesting where defendant is at least 21 years of age.

As part of a plea agreement, one count was dismissed and for the remaining count, Weimer was sentenced to 35 years in prison, minus 140 days of jail credit.

ORIGINAL STORY: 25-year-old Gavin Wesley Weimer has been charged for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl in a local school parking lot.

According to the Mishawaka Police Department, on March 17 Weimer picked up the victim near her home and took her to the school parking lot where he sexually assaulted her in his vehicle.

It should be noted that Weimer and the victim know one another. Additional details have been withheld from this story to protect the victim.

Weimer has been charged with two counts of Child Molesting where defendant is at least 21 years of age.

Weimer is currently on probation for Residential Entry, a Level 6 Felony. He is a registered sex offender, having previously been convicted of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, a Level 5 Felony.
