Man crashes car, wounded by gunfire and passes away at the scene in Benton Harbor

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A man who crashed his car was wounded by gunfire and passed away at the scene around 1:21 a.m. on Friday, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

The man was identified as Tevin Glaspy, a 29-year-old Benton Harbor resident.

Officers first were called out to investigate a complaint of gunshots near Highland and McCord, according to the report. The officers responded to a call about a motor assist on Highland and Hull.

Officers found Glaspy in a crashed car, the report said. He allegedly was unresponsive and was wounded by gunfire, officers said.

First aid was initiated, but Glaspy was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officers.
