Man cut multiple times after argument over music video turns violent in Osceola
ST. JOSPEH COUNTY, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Police have two people in custody after an argument over a music video turned violent in Osceola on Wednesday morning.
Court documents show that SJCPD officers responded to a battery at 10000 block of Glenwood Avenue around 8 a.m. on March 13 where they found Joe Henton sitting on the stairs by the side of the house bleeding from multiple wounds to his left arm/side and left side of his head.
As officers were speaking with Henton and beginning to treat his wounds, officers say Henton kept saying "I am going to die."
When asked who was responsible for his injuries, Henton told officers it was Aaron Hope who drove a black Cadillac. Police found Hope in the Cadillac driving north onto Juniper Road and he was pulled over. He and his passenger, Mia Hope, were taken to the police department and agreed to be questioned.
"After speaking to Aaron, Mia, and Joe it was concluded that Aaron and Mia went to Joe's home at Glenwood Avenue to record music and finalize a music video Joe was producing for Aaron," court document state. "Things were going well until Joe showed the final music video product to Aaron. Aaron asked for some things in the video to be changed and Joe began to argue with Aaron. Aaron and Joe continued to have a verbal confrontation that escalated into a physical fight. During the physical fight Aaron used a knife and cut Joe multiple times. Joe had multiple cuts and lacerations that had to be stitched at the hospital."
Officers say the most significant injuries were cuts to the left side of Henton's face and head, his left tricep, his left hand/thumb, the left side of his upper abdomen, and right thumb.
There were also "several superficial lacerations on his left forearm."
Hope had slight swelling on the left side of his lip and complained of some pain on the left side of his face but had no cuts.
"Mia stated she saw the fight between Joe and Aaron but left when Aaron pulled out a knife with his right hand," court documents state. "Aaron and Mia then left together in the black Cadillac."
Aaron Hope was charged with Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony, and Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 Felony.
