Man dies from firework explosion in Elkhart

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department officers and the Elkhart Coroner’s office began an investigation Sunday morning into the death of a man who died as the result of a fireworks accident.
44-year-old Jose DeJesus Magallanes suffered from head injuries after a firework explosion at his home on Independence Street in Elkhart.
The ruling of Magallanes’ death is accidental due to blunt force trauma to the head.
