Man enters guilty plea agreement in Attempted Murder of 18-year-old

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Court documents from the Elkhart Circuit Court reveal 44-year-old Emiliano Garcia Varrios Jr. has entered a guilty plea agreement for the Attempted Murder of 18-year-old William Pritt on Dec. 17, 2023.
Court documents state Varrios allegedly shot Pritt the same day he was released from jail for Battery against Varrios' wife.
Pritt was also Varrios' 14-year-old daughter's boyfriend at the time, according to documents.
Staff from the jail notified Varrios' wife of Pritt's release, and when Pritt arrived home, Varrios was there to greet him.
Varrios allegedly shot Pritt due to his relationship with his underage daughter.
Varrios was charged in January 2024 with Attempted Murder, a Level 1 Felony, and Criminal Recklessness def. shoots a firearm into a building, a Level 5 Felony.
Varrios' trial was set to begin Monday, but he entered a guilty plea agreement on Oct. 2.
The details won't be available until his sentencing, which hasn't been scheduled yet.
