Man faces multiple charges after allegedly firing gun inside residence

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- Court documents reveal 55-year-old Apolonio Corral Jr. is facing several weapons charges following an incident on Sept. 28.

Corral is charged with Unlawful Poss. of a Firearm by Serious Violent Felon, a Level 4 Felony, Criminal Recklessness-Shooting a firearm into an occupied vehicle, inhabited dwelling, a Level 5 Felony, Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun, a Level 5 Felony, and Neglect of a Dependent, a Level 6 Felony.

Corral was in court Wednesday morning and has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Nov. 25.

On the evening of Sept. 28, authorities arrived at a home in the 500 block of E. 4th Street, where dispatch advised a man had shot a gun inside the residence.

Police say the initial report stated the man, identified as Corral, had been shooting a gun inside the home.

Upon arrival, police stopped a silver minivan from driving away, in which Corral was a passenger.

Corral was taken into custody. Police retrieved the gun used in the shooting from under the minivan's seat. Corral was taken to Fulton County Jail.

A resident at the home explained that Corral and another man in the home and don’t get along, which led to the shooting.

At the time of the shooting, the residents which include four adults and six juveniles were all home.

While speaking with authorities, Corral allegedly told police when he gets out of prison from this incident that he still intended to kill the man. He also stated he was member of the gang the Latin Kings, and he was going to make call to have someone else come kill the man while he was locked up.

Corral also stated he knew that the police would be called after he killed and that he planned to go out in "blaze of glory."

Police asked him if he meant he was going to kill the police when we arrived, to which wouldn't come out and directly say that, but added that he knew if he came outside with shotgun in each hand that the police would shoot him.

Police say Corral maintained his desire and intention to kill numerous times.
