Man found guilty of resisting police in Three Rivers
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. - A man was found guilty on two counts of resisting/obstructing police after he allegedly ran from officers during an incident in August of 2021, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.
Mark Shelton, 62, was found guilty by a jury on November 22.
On August 19, 2021, an officer with the Three Rivers Police Department tried to arrest Shelton on an outstanding warrant.
Shelton allegedly resisted arrest and ran from police.
When Shelton was captured by officers, he continued to resist and was eventually tased, reports said.
One officer suffered a leg injury in the incident.
Shelton was convicted of the two counts as a fourth habitual offender.
His sentencing is scheduled for December 22.
He faces up to 15 years in prison.
