Man hit by car during 4th of July parade

Some shocking moments at a Fourth of July parade were caught on camera.

A flag bearer is hit by a car. A home video shows the frightening moments as a man walking in the parade gets plowed over by a PT Cruiser.

The car nearly hit onlookers who sat along the curb. 

“I was scared because the car came so close as we were sitting in our chairs.  My wife freaked out. I grabbed her and we ran for the house,” said Luis Castillo. “I heard an engine rev and the guy carrying the flag get hits by the car, the car kept going down the road."

Police believe the 87-year-old driver suffered a heat stroke and lost consciousness while riding in the convertible.

The man is expected to survive.
