Man shot during argument in Leesburg
LEESBURG, Ind. – A man is in serious condition at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital from a gunshot wound, after a domestic dispute at the Leesburg Gravel Pit.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was called to the gravel pit around 5:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.
According to the Sheriff’s department, Colby Kuczewski, 20, and Katheryn Wilcox, 20, were fighting while their vehicle became stuck in the gravel pit.
Wilcox received an injury after a battery occurred between the two.
A family member was called to help them get their car unstuck, and the dispute continued as the individual arrived.
Officials said when Buddy Kuczewski, 70, arrived the dispute continued to escalate.
According to the Sheriff, Colby Kuczewski took a knife and threatened to harm himself. Buddy Kuczewski retrieved his 357 revolver, and allegedly shot Colby in the upper leg.
Kuczewski was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne and was listed in serious condition.
Wilcox was treated for minor injuries and released from Park View Hospital in Warsaw.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s office is involved for possible charges in this case.
