Man injured in shooting in South Bend

South Bend Police responded to a shooting at 141 Illinois Street just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Captain Phil Trent says a man was shot in the leg.

“I heard fire crackers it was like 5 little pops. And that was it and then I came out side and seen the fire truck and ambulance but it didn’t look threatening or nothing like that there wasn’t any sound. And they said a boy got shot in his leg,” said witness Tyeisha Palmer.

Police say they are looking for a white vehicle that was last seen heading south on Illinois Street.
