INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Indiana State Police are currently investigating a crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon, taking the life of an Indianapolis man.

According to the investigation conducted by Trooper Mike Risley, the crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. after a 2018 Ford Transit, driven by 53-year-old James W. Simison of Indianapolis, struck the rear of a slow-moving semi-trailer truck.

The truck driver, 40-year-old Eduardo Martinez Escobedo, was uninjured, though Simison was determined deceased on arrival by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.

Simison’s family has been notified and drugs or alcohol are not determined to be a factor in this ongoing investigation.
