Man recovering after shooting in Elkhart

A man in Elkhart is recovering after police said he was shot in the head.

The call came in shortly after 7:30 Friday night.

It happened in the 300 block of Wagner Avenue.

When ABC57's Alyssa Marino first arrived on the scene, she said she saw a pool of blood and a pair of jeans where the victim was shot.

She also said she saw a man who appeared to be in his 20's being handcuffed and put in the back of a police car.

We are still working to learn the identity of the man and his condition.

Police are saying the victim is young and this is an ongoing investigation.
