CASS COUNTY, Mich. – Friday night at around 945 p.m. Cass County officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of East Dibble Street in Marcellus, Michigan.
Tyler Blentlinger, 22 had gathered with a group of people for a campfire in the backyard when an argument was started between Blentlinger and the suspect.
During the argument, the suspect got a gun and fired in the direction of Blentlinger hitting him twice.
A 911 call was made and deputies arrived at the scene. The suspect was arrested on charges of attempted murder and was sent to the Cass County Jail pending arraignment on the charges.
The victim was transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect name is being withheld until the arraignment.
Alcohol does appear to have played a factor in the incident.
