Man shot in the neck at home on South East Street

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- A man was shot in the neck early Saturday morning while at a residence on South East Street, according to Cassopolis Police.

Police were called to the 300 block of South East Street at 1:15 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

When police arrived, they located a 35-year-old man inside the home with a gunshot wound to the neck.

He was taken to the hospital. As of Monday morning, the victim was stable.

The suspect, a 42-year-old man, left the scene before police arrived.

The shooting remains under investigation.
