Man stabbed in argument at South Bend apartment complex

SOUTH BEND, Ind - South Bend police arrested a man around 2:30 Tuesday morning after officers said he stabbed a man who lives in the same apartment complex.

Police said the stabbing happened in the hallway of the building, located on the 2200 block of South Michigan Street.
According to officers on the scene, the two middle-aged men were arguing in the hallway before the suspect stabbed the victim in the arm.
Officers said it appeared the suspect was intoxicated. The man was yelling and swearing as an officer put him in the back of the squad car.
Police said it did not appear the victim had been drinking.
Medics treated and released the victim at the scene for the stab wound.
The suspect was at St. Joseph County Jail Tuesday morning.
