Man suffering overdose revived by narcan

EMS workers administered a dose of Narcan to a man who was found unresponsive in the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken Monday afternoon.

When LaPorte Police arrived to the restaurant just after 3 p.m., EMS was already tending to Thomas Clarich, 26.

Clarich had been found slumped over outside the door of his vehicle, police said.

EMS administered a dose of narcan and Clarich became conscious and alert.

Police found a prescription pill in plain view in Clarich's vehicle and a syringe cap underneath his vehicle, reports said.

Clarich was taken to the hospital, but refused additional treatment, police said.

Clarich was taken into custody on one count of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
