Man sustains serious bodily injury in La Porte County crash

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. – The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious car crash that happened on US 421 in Dewey Township Saturday morning.

Deputies say that a man driving northbound had crossed over into the southbound lane and crashed into a ditch on the side of the road.

Officials say that it is not known why the driver crashed their car. It was determined that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

The victim in the crash has been identified as 36-year-old Noah Serynek of Wheatfield.

After sustaining an upper body injury, Serynek had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Alcohol and toxicology tests results are pending.
