Man treated at hospital after house fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A man was taken to the hospital after fire crews put out a house fire on the 1500 block of South Webster Street Sunday evening.

According to the South Bend Fire Department, crews arrived on the scene around 7:33 p.m. where they found heavy smoke and flames in a bedroom.

When the fire was put out, firefighters discovered a male victim in the home.

Officials say the man was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
