SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Hundreds of people marched in Howard Park to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
The walk was put on by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention with a goal of raising $10,000.
Walkers say 38,000 people took their own lives last year.
"So many people out there have stories to tell, and I think there's a stigma around it, and we're trying to silence that stigma," said event coordinator Kelsey Martin.
Organizers are hoping the walks become an annual event.
