Markus Burton wins first career ACC weekly honor

Photo courtesy of the University of Notre Dame NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Local star Notre Dame guard Markus Burton was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career.
Burton finished with 15 points and a career-high eight assists in their statement 76-54 win over Virginia Saturday.
Burton has recorded double-digit points in six straight games, averaging 17.2 points per game. He leads all ACC freshmen and ranks third nationally with a 15.9 ppg average, and currently the only freshman in the country averaging over 15 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals.
The Irish host NC State Wednesday, January 3 at 9 p.m.
