MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – The Marshall County Crossroads, a collaboration of leaders from across the county, is raising money to help financially struggling families. Unemployment is at an all-time high due to the pandemic, but even that service can’t cover everyone’s costs.
The fundraiser campaign, called “Fund the Essentials,” is a coordination between the Marshall County Crossroads, the Marshall County Community Foundation, and the United Way.
The goal is to raise $400,000 for local food bank shortages and for residents of the county that can’t pay their utility bills.
“That’s our job in life is to help people and I just think we as a county of forty seven thousand people, like I said earlier we’re all in this together, we all have problems that we’re dealing with being cooped up,” said Kevin Overmyer who is President of the Marshall County Commissioners.
Marshall County Crossroads hopes to reach their goal by the end of May.
