Marshall County EMA MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A disaster has been declared in Marshall County following the recent rounds of severe weather.
County commissioners approved the declaration the morning of August 17 at the recommendation of the Marshall County Emergency Management Agence (EMA).
Officials say this is a necessary step for counties to directly receive federal help through the Public Assistance program.
The county EMA also said that the recent approval of FEMA disaster aid will be given to a number of counties, including Marshall; however, they say it will fall on President Trump to make a final determination on whether assistance will go to directly impacted Marshall County residents.
The declaration will expire at noon on August 24.
