MARSHELL COUNTY, Ind. -- Strong winds whipped through Michiana Tuesday morning, knocking down trees and power lines as many were just starting their work day.
Bourbon in Marshall county was one of the hardest hit locations, with multiple large trees blown over and branches snapped because of the severe storms.
ABC57 News spoke with a homeowner who had a large tree fall directly on top of his house. He told us that he was at work when the tree toppled, and no people were inside at the time. His dog, Rockne, made it out safely.
At one point Tuesday, nearly 20% of Marshall county was without power. Crews were able to get most of the Bourbon area back online by Tuesday evening.
More storms are possible early Wednesday morning, but those should not be as strong as the round that tore through early on Tuesday.
