Thirteen-year-old Owen Abbott died after a truck struck the bus he was riding in on US 31 near Plymouth shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Sadly, this isn’t the first deadly accident his family has experienced.
In Owen’s obituary, is says his stepmother, Mandi Abbott, is dead. ABC57 found that she died in a car accident in Pulaski County in 2015.
The obituary also reveals the eighth grader played football at Winamac Middle School and baseball for Star City Little League. He made the all-start team every year.
Owen also belonged to the Pulaski County 4H. Like so many other teenage boys, the post says he enjoyed playing Fortnite and hanging out with his friends and brother.
