MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games has wrapped up and the Marshall Starke County Special Olympics team athletes brought home a combined 17 Gold Medals, 12 Silver Medals, 17 Bronze Medals, and 33 ribbons.

Thousands of athletes across the state competed across several sports on the campuses of Indiana State University and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology June 6-8.

The local athletes competed in swimming, track and field, bowling, and powerlifting.

Officials with Marshall Starke County Special Olympics say the team showcased not only their talents but also the unyielding spirit of inclusion and perseverance.
