Maryland passes medical marijuana bill

MARYLAND — Maryland lawmakers passed a medical marijuana bill on Monday. The governor is expected to sign it.

Under the legislation, medical marijuana would be available through academic medical centers which would monitor patients and publish findings on them.

Participating medical centers would be required to specify the medical conditions it would treat.

A medical center would also have to provide the state health department data on patients and caregivers on a daily basis.
