Massive GM vehicle recall

A major recall for General Motors is underway. The car company is recalling nearly 55,000 SUV's, trucks, and vans because they could roll away while parked.

GM says the affected vehicles, all manufactured in late 2012, may have been built with a broken parking lock cable or a defective part in the steering column.

The models affected include: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.

The car manufacturer will begin to send out letters to owners shortly. The problem will be fixed for free.
