"Math masters" get honored at Lasalle Intermediate Academy

Some South Bend students got an “A” for effort today, at Lasalle Intermediate Academy.

Last year, 100 percent of the then fifth-grade class passed the math portion of the I-STEP.

Teachers told ABC57, it took a lot of hard work and determination on the part of both students and teachers. 

Their hard work paid off, and the kids were honored at a special assembly.

Ann Marie Lotridge, one of the fifth-grade math teachers said, “I was tearing up in the gym just watching the kids out there being honored for such a remarkable achievement." 

Everyone in the class also got a T-shirt that says “100 percent math masters” on the back.
