McFarland wins Marshall County sheriff primary race
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Les McFarland and Jeffrey Snyder battled for the Republican nomination for Marshall County sheriff, with both men boasting over 25 years of law enforcement experience.
McFarland took home the nomination by fewer than 100 votes.
It was the closest call coming out of Marshall County for the primaries.
Snyder said, “Les and I, you know, we’ve known each other. We’ve worked together for a long, long time, and when he takes office, I’ll be number two for the next guy and help him get through it. So, stay Republican come November and make sure he gets in there”
McFarland says he owes his victory to his work on community connection during his campaign.
“I think it’s service oriented. It’s all about working for people, working for the county, and trying to bring people together. Organizations together, government officials together for the best interests of the people”
McFarland will appear on the ballot in November for the sheriff position.
Between now and then, he says his main focus will be continuing to connect with his community.
