Mel Hall announces he's running for Indiana's 2nd Congressional District
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The former CEO and Chairman of Press Ganey announced Tuesday he is running for Indiana's 2nd Congressional District.
Mel Hall, 64, says he is running because he wants to give a voice to the residents of the 2nd District.
He has never held a political office, but says now is the time.
"Now I think it's time to make a difference, we've had a lot of talk but not much action. And in this district in particular, I think it's time to have a congress person who shows up, takes responsibility, and holds themselves accountable, and provides opportunity," Hall said.
Hall is running as a democrat.

Congresswoman Jackie Walorski issued a statement after Hall's announcement
"I’m 100 percent focused on doing the job my fellow Hoosiers elected me to do: bringing much-needed common sense to Washington. From rebuilding our military and fixing the VA to helping businesses create jobs and letting people keep more of the money they earn, I won’t stop fighting for Hoosier families, workers, veterans, farmers, and small business owners.”
Democratic Party Chairman Jason Critchlow stated
“We are excited to see a candidate move forward with an official announcement as there is a lot of enthusiasm surrounding the race for Congress. Democratic candidates won’t hide from the issues or voters as we have become accustomed to from Rep. Jackie Walorski. Our community deserves better than a ‘no show’ elected official who chooses ideology over doing what’s best for Hoosier families.”
