SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A Memorial Day run honored military members and their families, and highlighted a new organization for those who served in the area.
The wear blue: run to remember is a national nonprofit running community that celebrates fallen and active service members and their families.
National chapters meet every weekend and run and or walk to celebrate the lives who died while serving the United States. Before each run, group members participate in a Circle of Remembrance. People call out the names of service members who have died in action over that weekend since 9/11.
The South Bend chapter recently began. At Saturday’s run, the group read the names of 100 service members. Eight of them were from Michiana.
More information on the group can be found here.
