Memorial Health and Lifestyle Center offers way to help lose weight

For those that are looking for a way to work off all the holiday food that comes with the season, the Memorial Health and Lifestyle Center is offering a way to help accomplish your goal.

Their “Three Walks a Week” program kicks-off Monday and are encouraging those to get a few walks in each week with their indoor track.

Memorial Health and Lifestyle Center is offering incentives as well: those who walk 300 laps by the end of the program will receive a pedometer.

“Walking strengthens all your lower body joints, hips, knees, ankles. Any aerobic exercise has been shown to be a mood elevator particularly when we hit these darker days, literally. Having some mood elevators is really important,” says fitness specialist Bridget Hardy.

The program costs $29 for nonmembers, and those wanting to walk can at the center from 11:30 am-1:30 pm three times a week.
