Memorial Hospital on lockdown after downtown shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Memorial Hospital is back in lockdown after a person was shot three times near Leeper Park downtown after 8 p.m.

Memorial Hospital was placed on lockdown from 1 a.m. till 8 a.m. Saturday morning after three people were brought to its emergency room with gun shot wounds.

Just after 8 p.m. the hospital was put back in lockdown mode after another shooting victim was brought to the ER.

South Bend police officers confirmed the lockdown just before 9 p.m.

The lockdown will continue until further notice.

If you have an emergency you will still be treated at the hospital. The lockdown is a security measure to ID those who are coming into the building.

We have not been able to confirm if this shooting is linked to the shooting on the west side early Saturday morning.

At this time police have three people in custody in connection to the shooting.

The lockdown was lifted around 10 p.m.
