Michiana bakeries prepare for Fat Tuesday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Are you ready for some paczkis?
The popular Polish pastry has been a "Fat Tuesday" favorite in Michiana for nearly 100 years, and this year is no exception!
On Monday, we stopped by Macri's Bakery in South Bend and found out that they are already taking pre-orders!
"We usually expect to do about 8,000 plus paczkis for the day. A variety of different flavors. It starts the night before and continue to the end of the day,” said Gerry Mott of Macri's Bakery.
Macri's told us they make seven different kinds of paczkis. Their most popular is fresh strawberry, by far!
Fat Tuesday is February 21.
