Michiana community helps pay the tab for Ronald McDonald House

SOUTH BEND, Ind. –  The Ronald McDonald House provides rooms and assistance for families with sick children.

Here in Michiana the organization partnered with United Federal Credit Union to hold its first ever Pop Tab Palooza to raise money for ongoing expenses.

The event was held on June 29 in Mishawaka.

People donated 780 pounds of pop can tabs, which translates to $468.

It doesn't seem like much money, but it helps.

Marketing Director Aaron Charles says the event was a success because it did raise some money, but more importantly it raised awareness about the services provided to families in need.
