Michiana Home Depot store offers winter safety tips

 "Make sure you have what you need" was the advice the City of Bremen posted on its Facebook page Saturday night.

Many people across Michiana were doing just that.

Employees at a Michiana Home Depot store say shovels and snow blowers have been selling very well lately.

They say they are also seeing more people concerned with keeping their homes powered.

Jeff Davis, an assistant manager at Home Depot, says many people have been coming in to get emergency snow supplies.

Davis says his store was packed Saturday night and, along with bustling shovel and snow blower sales, people were also looking to buy generators.

"With a portable generator, there isn't too much installation that needs to take place. You can just run cords from the generator to those few appliances that you want to be able to power," said Davis.
