Michiana native killed during tree-trimming accident

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka native and Penn High School class of 1972 grad Steve Anson died Sunday afternoon in a tree-trimming accident.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in Kansas, a large tree limb fell on top of Anson while he was a trimming a tree on his property outside of Topeka.
The 60-year old was the head coach of Washburn University's baseball team in Kansas for the last 35 years.
According to the school's website, he was the winningest active coach in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association with over 840 wins.
