Michiana nonprofits receive $49k in grants

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Nine nonprofits across Michiana have been awarded a total of $49,500 in grants out of $79,500 across Indiana.

The grants come from the Everwise Foundation, an affiliate of the Everwise Credit Union awards them quarterly based on funding requests.

The Michiana organizations receiving grants from the Everwise Foundation this quarter include:

  • Elkhart H.S. Dollars for Scholars: $2,000 for Elkhart High School Seniors to pursue further education.
  • Fischoff National Chamber Music Association: $5,000 for providing children with music education.
  • Junior Achievement St. Joseph County: $5,000 for preparing young Hoosiers for the global economy.
  • LOGAN Community Resources, Inc.: $5,000 to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Mental Health Awareness of Michiana: $7,500 for quality-of-life initiatives for those with mental health concerns.
  • Penn High School Robotics: $2,500 to provide students with the FIRST Robotics Challenge.
  • South Bend Museum of Art: $5,000 for exhibitions, collections, and educational programs.
  • South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce (Healthcare Talent Alliance of Northern Indiana): $10,000 for educational programming, career exploration, and mentoring support.
  • United Way Northwest Indiana: $7,500 for mobilization.
