Michiana restaurant group encouraging carry-out services

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – “Keep Calm and Carry Out” is the name of a new food-service campaign organized by Quality Dining Inc., the purpose of which is to encourage you to support local restaurants by ordering carry-out.

Quality Dining Inc., whose offices are located in Mishawaka, posted a sign outside their corporate headquarters featuring the “Keep Calm and Carry Out” slogan.

They have also been distributing signs to restaurants across Michiana to promote carry-out services.

“Whether it’s got a brand name over the door or just a individual entrepreneur restaurant, these are all locally owned, they’re all locally operated,” Dan Fitzpatrick said, the CEO of Quality Dining Inc. “Here’s a way that people in their ordinary life would come into our restaurants otherwise but we need you maybe a little bit more now than ever.”

The campaign, Fitzpatrick says, is a way of supporting the community during a difficult time.

“There’re restaurants all over this community,” Fitzpatrick said. “They’ve got great kids working in them, we need the business, our grocery stores can’t carry on and take care of all of it and we’ve got to give them some help and our restaurants can do that.”

The campaign has caught the attention of several notable Michiana personalities, including Notre Dame Head Football Coach Brian Kelly, and Mascots Stu and Swoop of the South Bend Cubs.

Cam Snyder, the Owner of the Chubby Trout in Elkhart, says that he appreciates all the support he has received from the community.

“This community has stepped up. They’ve come in and they’re spending money, they’re making carry out — you know they’re doing carry out orders. It’s just amazing to see what an amazing community we have.”

If you want to do your part and help the community, you are encouraged to order carry-out from local restaurants.
